Kamehameha Leadership Style

Hawaii has 8 mine islands and they are Ni’ihau, Kaua’i, O’ahu, Moloka’i, Maui, Big island, Lana’i, Kaho’olawe. This islands was not united until a chief named Kamehameha. Kamehameha is the step son of Kalaniopuu, and he was not next in line to be high chief of any islands. But, because of Kamehameha’s hard work he complete unified all of the islands in 1810. Kamehameha was an effective leader because he was smart, responsible, and a good role model.

Kamehameha was an effective leader because he is smart. Kamehameha went to sell sandalwood in other nations, but some places charged visiting ships for harbor, pilot, and port fees. Kamehameha was being smart, so he decided to do the same at honolulu. Kamehameha add this in so he can make more money. It was good for hawaii and kamehameha because it makes the economy stronger.

Kamehameha decided to rebuild his war-torn land, so he tell his men to work on terracing hills, saving up taro patches, saving up taro patches, digging fishponds. But, not just telling his people to do it, Kamehameha himself as a king worked alongside the peoples too! Kamehameha had never do this as a king before. It was good because he was being a good role model for the people.

He was able to achieve by building a stronger economy, and worked alongside the people. Therefore he made sure that they could keep the economy going strong. Kamehameha helps keep the people peace and also rebuild the land after war. Kamehameha helped hawaii even today by turning Hawaii from a farm community to a trading economy. That helps hawaii in modern days, like toresoms. People might not know about hawaii, and Hawaii couldn't enjoy all those good from other places.
