When we first meet Kakashi, it’s revealed that he will be giving team 7 their final test from the ninja academy. The only thing Kakashi tells team 7 about the test, is to skip breakfast that morning. A very hungry team 7 shows up the following morning, eager to take their test. Kakashi tells team 7 that their test is to take the bells out of his hands by noon. If you’re unable to get the bells by then, you’ll go without lunch and you will fail the test. The first thing Sakura, Naruto and Sasuke (team 7) notice, is there’s two bells and three of them, so they immediately begin to work against each other. It’s now noon and no one was able to get a single bell from Kakashi. Kakashi is disappointed in team seven and tells them the fail the test.

Soon after joining the squad Kakashi was promoted to jonin (The highest level a ninja can be). Obito was always jealous of Kakashi, because he was always seen as a prodigy child. Minato and Rin gave Kakashi a gift for his promotion, but the only thing Obito had to give was a nasty look. On that same day they had a very important mission and Minato was needed at the frontlines, so Kakashi was left in charge. While walking towards their mission destination, a ninja from another village kidnapped Rin. Obito wanted to go save Rin and Kakashi wanted to complete the mission first and then go after Rin. Obito tell Kakashi. “Those who break the rules and regulations are scum. But those who abandon their comrades are worse than scum,” then they go their opposite ways. Obito finds Rin, but there’s a powerful ninja blocking his way to her. Kakashi realizes that Obito is right, so he turns around to go help Obito save Rin. Obito is happy to see Kakashi and they both work together to save Rin. They defeat the other ninja, but Kakashi’s left eye was badly damaged. They entered the cave where and find Rin all tied up. While untying Rin, the cave started to cave in. Kakashi struggles to dodge the falling rocks with his eye being damaged. A giant boulder comes crashing down towards Kakashi, but Obito pushes him out of the way and he gets crushed. Obito starts to apologize for
