The marriage of Frida and Diego was not healthy. Frida cheated on Diego with many people while Diego cheated on Frida, he even had an affair with Frida’s sister, Cristina. Frida still continued on her career and in 1938, Kahlo painted “Suicide of Dorothy Hale” for the New York City Art Gallery. Unfortunately, the painting upset too many people at the gallery and the painting was ordered to be destroyed. Eventually in Kahlo’s marriage, Diego and Frida were divorced.
