For this course, the three objectives that I incorporated at work (KOI) were obtaining my RBT (Registered Behavior Technician) certification, improving my planning and organizational skills for various tasks that needed to be completed, and cultivating professional relationships with colleagues and supervisors. I first selected the goal of obtaining my certification because it was something I needed to achieve in order to move out of training at work. Overall, I think these goals were key components to being a successful employee at my company. Through studying (videos, flashcards, working with a peer), training/observation, asking questions, research, reading, and on the job experience I was able to accomplish my objective of obtaining my RBT certification. Progress was made with planning and organization through utilizing time management techniques and prioritizing various tasks based upon immediacy of completion. Lastly, to cultivate professional relationships I ensured that I was punctual to meetings and other events, reliable, and set aside time to work with others not only as a team, but individually as well. (body): I am happy to report that I accomplished my RBT certification goal. The aspects that worked well were studying, training/observation, and most of all on the job experience. I feel that implementing what I was learning helped me the most to become familiar with the material on ABA techniques and other components of being an RBT. As for goal 1 (efficiency, productivity, deadlines), I maintained above-average productivity (+ 15 percent over the unit’s average) despite the transition to one-screen teleworking environment and a marked reduction in the number of FADO documents available for translation. No deadlines were missed. Also, I continued to be available for stand-by duty, both on weekdays and weekends, and readily volunteered to work overtime on all occasions when offered to do so by our coordination officer. With regard to goal 2 (team spirit), along with five other colleagues, I participated in the group tasked with coming up with activities to consolidate the team-spirit within the unit.
