As a child, K. Waheed suffered numerous traumatic events that began from the time she was just two years old. She was physically, emotionally, sexually and spiritually abused when she was terrorized, tortured, and abandoned. In addition to that, there were multiple perpetrators that made the healing process more difficult for her.
Nevertheless, she is almost cured now. She took one huge step into the right direction when she put herself through therapy at the age of 21. Another method that helped her recover was quitting drinking alcohol with the help of an association named Alcoholics Anonymous (AA). She admitted herself into a psychiatric hospital and that’s when her journey to recovery began. She was diagnosed with PTSD there.
She no longer suffers from flashbacks now but she is in the middle of recovering from another childhood memory. She is still working hard in therapy and finally learned that the flashbacks won’t kill her or make her head explode. She is glad she does not have reprieves from the hard work and get to be a human being and not just a human doing. She takes it one day at a time and tries not to be so serious.
