Jv Captain Research Paper

It came as a shock to me, new coaches and many new girls on the team and they chose me to be the captain. This past school year I was given the honor of being the JV Tennis captain, it came as a huge surprise to me, seeing as it was new coaches who had only met me a month before naming me, captain. This was my second year of being on the team and I was one of three seniors on JV, many of the other girls were freshmen and sophomores. My coaches presented me with the idea of being captain by giving me the following three reasons: I always give 120% at practice, I am always the first one to volunteer when they are looking for someone to help one of the new girls and, they saw potential in me and saw that I always had a positive attitude. I made sure they all knew that I was their go to person if they had any questions about tennis, school, and even life. At practice, I pushed each and every girl to give practice her all, the best way to become a better player is practice and I would repeat that to them when I saw them dragging their feet. I constantly gave compliments to my teammates when they had a nice shot but I also wasn't afraid to give helpful advice when I saw any of them struggling. I wanted to be more than a captain to my teammates, I wanted to be someone they looked up to and someone they found a friend in.
Throughout the season my friendships grew with each of them, I would find something different about each of them and relate it to my life in some way. I found that many of them liked the same music as I did and we would all sing on the bus rides to our away matches. Also, because many of them were younger than me, they would come to me with questions about school or teachers and I would do my best to give them advice. Each girl has had a huge impact on the person I am today because not only did I teach them something, but they showed me the feeling of joy when they would praise me on being the best

The North Star is recognized as the perennial navigation beacon and compass to follow, providing direction and guidance for those lost without it. Great leaders, similarly, provide focus and influence to guide others to achieve goals they would not reach on their own. A great leader, not only will inspire others to attain goals they would have not attempted otherwise, but also, will motivate others to grow by learning more about the world of opportunities around them and eventually motivate others to raise to a higher level of performance . As a water polo volunteer coach I learned to create an environment where players would experience successful practices and would be motivated to try harder to improve their game skills.…

As Captain of my school’s varsity tennis team, my daily tasks are running practice, creating drills, and conditioning. Before each match I advise my team about our opponent’s weaknesses and strengths and talk about what we can do to win. Last week after we won our match, one of my teammates came up to me and told me how my advice helped her to win her game. That gave me a lot of pride knowing…
