Antonio Vivaldi was an Italian composer born in Venice, Italy. He was the oldest sibling of nine children. In 1703, Vivaldi was ordained to the priesthood and because he had a red hair, he was well known as the red hair priest. He was trained to play violin from his father, Giovanni Battista Vivaldi . Giovanni was a violinist and prior to that, he was a barber. Vivaldi and his father played a duet while they were touring around Venice. As a child prodigy, he appeared in the public in 1696. Vivaldi had a health issue, which know days is commonly known as asthma. However, his love towards the music did not stop him from playing violin or composition. He only had to stop playing any wind instruments. Instead of quitting music, Vivaldi became a violin teacher at the orphanage that was a girl’s facility. Vivaldi wrote many of the songs for those girls in the orphanage facility. Vivaldi’s dedication towards the facility helped the orphans because they received the music education. Giving the music education helped, especially, the advanced players because they were able to remain in the facility to get much higher musical education and many of them became a part of the Ospedale’s re-owned orchestra and choir.
