Juvenile delinquency is a major topic that entails different opinions about how unacceptable or unlawful crimes should be effectively addressed. Specifically, a local store robbery, involving a young man with a handgun, and no prior criminal or delinquent offense, will spark various reactions to this unfortunate situation. Understandably, some people may think that the juvenile should be charged as an adult and harshly punished for the robbery, while others may strongly disagree with the punishment and suggest that the young man be tried as a juvenile with a rehabilitative reform and treatment.
