Juvenile Justice If I committed a serious crime, at the age I am at now, I would expect to be tried as a juvenile. I am not yet 18, therefore I should not be tried as one, though this is not always the case. Children, under the age of 18, are often tried as adults for heinous crimes and it is often understandable. Even though I do believe that juveniles are immature and are not ready for life as adults, I do believe that if the situation calls for it, then the court has the right to decide whether that juvenile should be tried as his or her age or as an adult. A juvenile is a young person, an adolescent, a teenager, a child, a junior, a minor. The main difference between an adult and a juvenile are their ages, but also, the fact that juveniles
