Is it okay to try youth offenders as adults? This topic is very controversial as it could potentially put adolescents in harm's way in an adult prison. Although, some might argue that the perpetrator deserves a worse punishment, maybe even the death penalty. Juveniles are not given a trial by jury, but they should be tried by a jury to give them a more fair case. Granted, juvenile cases may fluctuate from accounts of petty theft or vandalism to very serious accounts of murder or rape. And in any of these cases would result in the offender being taken to court. Tho the question still stands, should the juvenile be charged as an adult in the court of law? If their crime is very severe; then yes, they should be charged as an adult.
