Career Academy
School is a very important time and learning period in a juvenile’s life. I believe that this program is a very good option of this 15 year old child. Career Academies are schools within schools that link students with peers, teachers, and community partners in a disciplined environment, fostering academic success, mental and emotional health, and labor market success. These academies enable youths who may have trouble fitting into the larger school environment to belong to a smaller educational community and connect what they learn in school with their career aspirations and goals. This program keeps 40 to 75 kids in the same group with the same or 4 teachers through their 4 years of high school, or until their degree is obtained. This program ties school and behavior problems together which is what this young adult needs to succeed. It relies on intrinsic motivation for developing and maintaining positive behavioral patterns and teaches skills focused on learning and motivation for achieving success and happiness for everyone. This program is all about self-confidence. Positive thoughts lead to positive actions, positive actions lead to positive feelings about oneself, and positive feelings lead to more positive thoughts. The program addresses diverse problems, such as substance use, violence-related behavior, disruptive behavior, and bullying, as well as social–emotional learning, positive youth development, character, and academics. The PA program portfolio features interactive, ready-to-use kits that contain 15 to 20 minutes of scripted lessons for schools, families, and communities. Positive behavior grows on a person, the more they learn about positive behavior and the outcomes that can benefit them in return the better that person will
