Juvenile Justice Essay We are living in a society that thinks, acts and decides how they live - all in different ways. Each individual has the capacity to make their own choices. Around us we see many things happening. One of them is the juvenile violence that each day raises crimes rates, and makes the Supreme Court want to treat juveniles as adults when they commit a violent crime. In my opinion children who commit violent crimes such as murder should be treated as adults, because they have to free will to make these choices. Juveniles act knowing the things they are doing, but they don’t realize the consequences in the future. This was the first case about a child who killed someone. He was sent to a juvenile detention and reassessed at the age of 21, to determine if he had been rehabilitated enough for release or if he should be sent to a prison for adults. In this case we see an 11 year kid who could kill someone with a gun in their hands. This kid had the capacity to know the difference between right and wrong. No matter if was an accident or his age, the crime happened and must be treated with a fair charge. We know that a child can act for fun, but also have the ability to understand and know what happens around them.
