Furthermore, it is important to understand what types of programs are used, how effective they are, and whether or not juvenile detention centers justly work to reduce recidivism within the juvenile populous (Baltodano, Platt, & Roberts, 2005). Juvenile detentions centers are not all created equal in regards to size, treatment options, trained staff, etc. There are numerous aspects to keep in mind when reviewing this literature review.
