The Success of Justin Timberlake Born on January 31, 1981 in Memphis, Tennessee, Justin Timberlake is a natural born entertainer. He has two half-brothers named Jonathan and Steven. He grew up singing and acting. His whole family knew, he was a very talented child. He mentioned that he was inspired by Janet Jackson because she “didn’t just stand there and sing her song.” Jackson would always be dancing and singing her heart out when performing. When he was only 11 years old, Timberlake went on the TV show Star Search. He made it far, but lost to a cute 10 year old girl. He was also on the show The Mickey Mouse Club. When on that show, he met some people who would become very relevant in his life. He met his future girlfriend, Britney Spears. Timberlake and Spears became really good friends and started dating a few years later. Timberlake became very well known in the entertainment business and he knew that this was only the beginning to his career. In June of 2012, he began writing the album The 20/20 Experience. His first single off the album was “Suit and Tie” and it featured hit artist Jay Z. He then peaked at number 3 on the Billboard Top 100. On February 11, 2013, he released his single “Mirrors” and that song made a huge hit with fans. That song made it to number 2 on the Top 100 charts. Finally on March 19, 2013 Timberlake released the album The 20/20 Experience. Sales blew through the roof for this album. It’s the fastest selling album on iTunes Store and debuted at number one on the charts by moving just over 968,000 copies in the U.S. It was the biggest sales week in the year 2013. After all of that, Timberlake announced that he was going on The 20/20 Experience World Tour right after his tour with Jay Z, Legends of the Summer
