“I got you to look after me, and you got me to look after you, and that’s why.” The novel, Of Mice and Men by John Steinbeck, is about two best friends, Lennie and George, who try to find work. They find work on a ranch but then Lennie accidentally kills Curley’s wife. Then George, Lennie’s best friend, kills him. George was justified in killing him because he saved him a slow painful death, jail time, and any more accidents. Curley said he’d kill Lennie in a slow painful way for killing his wife. He said he would go after him by himself and shoot him in the guts. George shot Lennie himself because he didn’t want him to suffer.
