When conducting the screening process for physical development Justice had trouble throwing a wad of paper more than approximately three feet even after several tries and breaks. She does not have many outdoor actives not from a lack of encouragement but from a lack of enthusiasm. Putting the screening test aside we only spent about ten minutes outdoors playing hopscotch, some jump rope attempts, and hula-hooping. According to Justice’s mother her daughter prefers playdates indoors. There is no health anomalies or significant event that might have caused her to set that preference. Another observation that I made is when Justice had to use the bathroom her mother would always assist her. Justice did not turn the bathroom door knob but instead tapped the door to signal that she needed to go. It was Justice’s mother who would twist and push the door open and assister her to use the bathroom. It could be that Justice is more concerned with her need to use the restroom and depends on her mother to open the door because she knows that she’ll need assistance or feels at ease with her mother …show more content…
If she sees her mother playing and being a part of the game then she will most likely develop an enjoyment for it as much as she enjoys being indoors learning. Another suggestion is to allow Justice to slowly take responsibility for using the bathroom. Perhaps asking her to open the door then proceed to the next step until she learns to go to the bathroom on her own with no supervision.
