What is Justice? This question is one I struggle to answer. As per the dictionary, justice is the quality of being just and fair. Truly, what does that mean though? These are abstract concepts that we tether together to create a concreate ideal. What is fair? What is just? Is it being a moral person? The use of simple words and phrases does not make justice a simple concept. On the contrary, justice is one of the most convoluted topics we have come across in law school. What I believe is justice may not be what justice is to another. There may be some similarities, but they will not be truly identical. These similarities are what bind us as a society. They act as strings that make up the fabric of justice and fairness which unites us.
Personally, I describe justice more as a concept which falls on a shifting scale versus a rigid definition. My experiences have heavily influenced this concept of justice. Justice is being able …show more content…
After this semester, I must say that Criminal law is an area I will explore further. However, I’m still interested in more transactional work as well. I think if I practice Criminal law, I would be sure to promote justice in every aspect of my career. I would work with the defendants to find a reasonable solution to the situation. If I was to practice in a Private law firm, I would be sure to pursue Pro Bono services to assist low-income clients. I would also assist those who make too much to qualify as low-income but do not make enough to afford an attorney. Those are the individuals that are in need of zealous representation. They fall into a gray area that the legal profession does not fully address. That is an injustice I would work towards correcting. I will pursue my concept of justice no matter what field I practice in. Justice is directly tied to my upbringing, morals, and my character. I hereby certify that I spent no more than 5 hours on this
