It's not possible the man could've heard it. That eyewitnesses can make the wrong mistake and convince jurors and ruin people's life. In the passage the 8th jurors says “weren't you the one just a minute or two ago that you can't trust them”. That jurors cannot be fair and puts people in groups and allow stereotypes affect his opinion. This does not guarantee justice for all because someone can be racist and give the defendant an unfair trial.
