Have you ever met two different people who are so similar but yet so different? After reading the play “12 Angry Men” by Reginald Rose, I realize that juror #3 and juror #8 are so different but somewhat alike. Even though there is not a lot of similarities between them juror #3 and juror #8 are both somewhat similar they’re both so determined to speak their minds no matter what anyone else says. For example, when everyone was slowing paying attention to juror #8 and trying to understand his perspective on why he didn’t vote guilty in the beginning juror #3 still continued to rant and go against juror #8 because he was so determined to end the deliberation. Another example to support my statement is how juror #3 automatically had everyone’s votes in the beginning without even trying all he did was speak his …show more content…
Juror #3 gave in the end when he noticed that he was all alone he gave in and voted not guilty but that still didn’t stop him from speaking his mind he continued to rant no matter what. Juror #8 is different from juror #3 because he’s kind hearted and his not afraid to stand alone no matter what anyone else says to him. For example, when everyone voted guilty in the beginning because they wanted the deliberation to be over he was the only one who stood alone and thought about his decision. He was also the only one who said “it’s not so easy for me to raise my hands and send a boy off to die without talking about it first”. It proves that not only is a warm hearted and is not afraid to speak his mind but he also cares about the justice system. In both of the trials, the citizens and other members of jury believe that the defendant is guilty based solely on the defendants’ race; however, Atticus and Davis both disagree with the popular opinion and are more than willing to prove and support their own opinion. In 12 Angry Men , Juror 3 loudly proclaims that the boy is guilty and that all ghetto youths are criminals, while Juror 7 wants the jury to reach a decision quickly because he wishes to attend a baseball game that evening. Juror 1 conducts a preliminary ballot and eleven jurors vote for conviction without hesitation. When Davis, or Juror 8, is the only one to disagree and cast the only dissenting vote, Juror 10 gruffly declares that Davis is a weak-willed "bleeding heart". Contradicting his opinion troubles Juror #2 and causes him to respond meekly. He also does not have a lot of power in the room, which contributes to his guilty vote.
