Jurassic Park takes place in the late 1980’s, a time where genetic research is at it’s high point. Michael Crichton does a great job of incorporating actual historical facts and dates into this time where genetic impossibilities have become a reality. A time where we have the technology and the knowledge to do almost anything we wanted to do, but we cannot abuse this power. Have you ever heard the phrase “with great power comes great responsibility”? Well Michael Crichton that same moral compass in this book, but instead of having great power, we have a vast knowledge that we have to use in moderation.
