Junipers maroon plastic pod glimmered in the afternoon light as the ferris wheel began its climb to the top. Juniper -- a 13 year old from Boston -- had chosen to come on this cruise to get a view of the city, as her parents stayed at the bottom. Her family had come to Seattle on Summer vacation to try to escape the constant dysphoria of everyday life, so far this venture had the opposite effect. From the ferris wheel Juniper started noticing black vans scattered through the city. Even though each vehicle was agleam in light, these vans seemed to give off an aura of foreboding.
