It was my junior year, and cheerleading tryouts were right around the corner. My goal was to make varsity cheer for my first time. I had already made up my cheer and practiced it a multitude of times at least a month prior to tryouts. The day came, and I was extremely nervous, but I knew I was ready. It was my third year of going through tryouts, so I knew exactly what to expect. After walking off the stage where tryouts were held, I felt very confident. I immediately called my mom to tell her how it went. “I think I made varsity”, I said. I still had to await an hour of anticipation to find out the results.
