Junior’s decisions are strongly influenced by Rowdy, and even though Rowdy teases Junior at times they still keep a strong friendship with each other. Rowdy frequently makes suggestions that Junior follows through without an argument. Rowdy tells Junior, “they should climb that monster [tree]”, Junior, knowing they could get hurt, goes and starts climbing the tree. Junior had the choice to deny, but didn’t because he thought if he didn’t go through with Rowdy’s suggestion, it would ruin their friendship.

George is regarded as a leader and paternal figure towards Lennie who is there to guide and protect him with his moral power. In the line: ‘they had walked in single file down the path”, we can see that Lennie is behind George following like a father and son. The reason I think that Steinbeck has used the phrase ‘single file’ is to create a visual image in the reader’s mind as they read to help them immediately imagine and have the precise perception of how the relationship between George and Lennie works. George was always the one in front who wanted to protect him and wants to be in control in other words: the leader, and Lennie: the follower. Additionally this signifies an unbalanced friendship, the opposite of what was mentioned in the…

Of Mice and Men essay I think that George and Lennie from Of Mice and Men have a better relationship than Romeo and Juliet because George protected Lennie on multiple occasions, George was able to find him and Lennie a job when it was hard to find open jobs, and George only killed Lennie because it was the most humane choice he had. My first reason is because George was able to find both of them a job, even though it was very hard to find a job and Lennie was mentally disabled. This is shown when George successfully gets them a job at the ranch even after being chased out of Weed after Lennie grabbed the girl's dress. That would have made finding a job difficult, however George was still able to get them a job even though he had to lie a bit. On pages 21 and 22, we see this when the boss asks about Lennie not being much of a talker.…

Literature is the vital record of what men have seen in life, what relationships they have experienced and what they have thought and felt about those human relationships that have the most immediate and enduring interest for all of us. Man is a social animal and in his relationships he can never be fully satisfied. Man’s satisfaction in his relationships never comes during his life and literature mirrors this irony of relationships. In the present paper, I will scrutinize the comic prowess of Pulitzer Prize-winning comic playwright Neil Simon who uses humour as a ‘relief mechanism’ to grapple with the pain, dissatisfaction, burden and the routine boredom of relationships. His plays expose human weaknesses and make people laugh at themselves.…
