Foremost, the sky was foggy, and the air was chilly, with a brisk wind blowing around. Indeed, I had my hiking boots laced up and my charcoal leggings with my Columbia rain jacket. Lastly, my pink tinted water bottle was filled to the top, and I was ready to embark my ten-mile journey on the Mendenhall …show more content…

Despite the fact that I wanted to quit, I was not going to let myself be a quitter. I quenched my thirst and kept on walking. Standing on top of that mountain made me become stronger in my faith towards Jesus Christ. I also believe that he is to thank for the astounding views our Earth has. I will never forget that moment looking out and seeing the World from a different point of

Ever since my first backpacking trip 6 years ago, I’ve had an affinity for the Appalachian Trail. I’m constantly looking for excuses to mash our lives into the giant, 50 liter bags, and hit the trail for a few days. This past year, in early fall, I convinced my parents to don their sturdy boots and disappear into the wilds of bear state park with me for three days. We were dropped off at the top of Bear Mountain and, while my parents argued over directions, I wandered around the windswept ridge.…
