When you scan it, make sure that the name of the newspaper, the date of publication, and the section and page number are also scanned (not handwritten). 5. It should illustrate some analysis of the article’s content (rather than being purely descriptive) and demonstrate critical thinking and creativity when relating it to the reading(s) and to broader issues in Chinese politics. This will help you in preparation for writing your term papers. Note: You are permitted to use two different newspaper articles on the topic you have chosen if you find that a comparison of the articles would strengthen your analysis. 6. You should relate your newspaper article to at least one or two readings from the syllabus (essential and/or further readings are acceptable, though you are encouraged to start with the essential readings).
