Julphar is the largest Generic drug manufacturer in the MENA area. Established in 1980, the first plant started to manufacture and produce only five products. Today Julphar produces 3957 products. After just over 3 decades, today Julphar operates out of fifteen plants. Thirteen of which are based in the UAE, one in Bangladesh and one in Ethiopia. Moreover, Julphar’s sixteenth plant is expected to start its operation in the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia later this year.

There, non-sterile solid dosage forms such as tablets, capsules, effervescent tablets and powders for suspensions (PPS) and sachets are manufactured in a fully automated facility. Raw materials get handled with extreme control through closed systems eliminating cross contamination. Environmental conditions are also controlled and monitored. Yearly, they produce 5000 million tablets, 500 million capsules and 5 million powder pro-suspensions. J(IX), however, is responsible for filling 30 million units The Cephalosporin Sterile Powder. Adhering to cGMP guidelines, manufacturing vessels are equipped with closed loop CIP and SIP Systems. J(V) is the plant responsible for packaging all Julphar’s products. The fully automated plant adheres to many international standards and requirements for handling packaging and storage. Special conditions for the storage and handling of biotechnology products and injectable products are also facilitated for in this plant. J(X) however, is the semi solid and ointment plant.
