He organized many protests and many boycotts. But, they were never violent. He said, “ Our power, does not lie in Molotov cocktails. ... Our power lies in our ability to say nonviolently that we aren't gonna take it any longer.” He believed that words said much more than violence. What you spoke is what people listened too. Fighting got you nowhere. Reverend Mays supported King’s word by saying, “He believed that nonviolent direct action was necessary to supplement the nonviolent victories won in federal courts. He believed that the nonviolent approach to solving social problems would ultimately prove to be redemptive. He gave people an ethical and moral way to engage in activities designed to perfect social change without bloodshed and violence.” King showed American that change could be made without all the fighting and abuse. Martin Luther King also believed in hard work. He said, “If it falls your lot in life to be a streets weeper, sweep streets like Michelangelo painted pictures.” He believed that no matter what job you did, do it with honor and integrity. King’s ambition inspired people to believe in what was right, and what was wrong. Some people were scared for King because he was wrecking havoc on America. King helped accomplish a world change in civil rights for African Americans. Caesar did not become King, but he did accomplish war and violence, which is terrible. Ambition ended up being threatening for both Julius Caesar and Martin Luther King Jr. More so towards Caesar though, because Caesar ended with nothing. MLK ended with world peace among blacks and whites. But, I don't think they deserved death. What they did was extraordinary and should be told about for times to
