Drama is divided into two distinct parts which are tragedy and comedy. Tragedy is a part of drama that leads to death, destruction,and suffering; while comedy’s purpose is humor and make the audience laugh. Each comedy and tragedy will use elements in it. Comedy will use elements like slapstick,or physical acts that are funny ; puns,or plays on words that may have double meaning;and mistaken identity, or mistaken one person for another ,which creates a funny situation. Tragedy on the other hand uses elements such as: foreshadowing, tragic flaws and accidents of fate. The elements of foreshadowing ,tragic flaws, accidents of fate were utilized by Shakespeare in ’Julius Caesar’ which brought the play to its tragic ending.
Foreshadowing or the predication of death, destruction and suffering is used by Shakespeare in ‘Julius Caesar’ present by the characters of Brutus ,Caesar ,Cassius and Calpurnia. The first foreshadowing occured at a night with terrible storm,but Casca was out in it.Suddenly, he saw a lion which was too frightened to attack him.This foreshadowing meant that the gods were angry with the men of Rome ;and it symbolized death. This wrong choice let him destroy himself. What’s more,we could see the tragic flaws on Caesar. Many foreshadowing were made to remind Caesar to ‘’beware of the ideas of March’’,but Caesar was not care about it because of his too pride. Additionally,at the day of becoming a king,Caesar’s wife told him not to go outside today because of awful omens. But when Decius told him if you weren’t go today,the senators might change their minds to select others to become the king.As the result,Caesar went and he died
