Politics: the activities associated with the governance of a country, especially the debate or conflict among individuals or parties having or hoping to achieve power. Politics are the building blocks of a country. They can either cause whole nations to collapse or make those nations into world powers. Politics can also do this with relationships. Because of the fact that politics has such a large effect on nations, it is likely that your opinions on your nation's politics may influence who you associate with. Especially if you work with them or are very politically involved. This problem has affected people for as long as we have had governments to run. He compares Caesar, a recent best friend, to “A serpent's egg,/Which, hatched, would, as his kind, grow/ mischievous.”(II.ii.33) In this comparison Brutus is saying that Caesar should be killed before he becomes a dictator and can cause harm to Rome and it's people. In the span of a few days Brutus has gone from loving Caesar, to telling himself that Caesar must die. His change in feeling spontaneously that Caesar still thought they were friends. He states “Good friends, go in, and taste some wine with me; /And we, like friends, will straightway go together.” (II.ii.134-135) Julius speaks to a group of Brutus and other conspirators and refers to them as friends. This quote is ironic because they are secretly plotting Caesar’s death. This is like politicians now, it is very easy for them to turn on one another. It is a simple fact that Republicans and Democrats don't always get along. Their views on controversial topics are always different making it hard for them to get close. Politics decide how a country is run, this affects everyone who lives there. The other person's views might sound completely idiotic to you and make you lose respect for that person. That's why on all political shows when people with opposite political views try to talk about a current topics it just ends in a lot of
