When someone is ambitious it could cause many problems in the long run. An example of when a character points out how Caesar is ambitious and should be killed is Brutus. Brutus proposed the idea to Lucius saying “And therefore, think him as a serpent’s egg—Which, hatched, would as his kind grow mischievous—And kill him in the shell.” (II.i.32-34). Being ambitious could be a problem because if one does anything and everything to succeed, that person can forget about all the ones most loyal to him. Caesar was ambitious; once he climbed the ladder of power he never looked back at those most loyal to him. This reason made the assassination more justified because Caesar was not loyal to those who are loyal to him and that caused the betrayal. In addition, having a friend who one might think is loyal to them but is not could easily lead to betrayal because the ones closest to one are the ones they should fear. Caesar thought Cassius as a friend, but Cassius thought otherwise. This was shown when Cassius proclaimed to Brutus "Brutus and Caesar—what should be in that ‘Caesar’? Why should that name be sounded more than yours?" (I.ii.143-145). When having someone who one is loyal to but are not loyal back could because they could fall right into a trap. As a result, Caesar got assassinated by Cassius and the conspirators. One can easily bring betrayal upon themselves if the
