In this world there is no one considered a perfect person. We may dream of a person that is perfect, but everyone has flaws. These flaws are what make us human. Something else that makes us human is our need for heroes. We credit heros for being perfect. But theses heros we need also have these flaws. The Tragedy of Julius Caesar is a dramatic play by the English playwright William Shakespeare, written in 1599. This plays takes place in Rome where a group of men start a plan to assassinate Julius Caesar. Brutus is easily influenced, has difficulty in looking ahead, is too proud for capture, is naïve to the whole picture, and has split loyalties. The flaw that has the greatest influence on Brutus and his decisions is that he is easily influenced. Because of the strong influences others have on Brutus, the conspirators easily persuade him to make decisions he probably wouldn't have made. Brutus has two options to either side with Cassius and join the assassination plan or don’t kill Caesar, his friend. He chooses to kill Caesar which makes him a tragic hero. Cassius lead him to fear Caesar is too ambitious and autocratic. This forced Brutus to come to the conclusion that Caesar's death is the only way to solve Rome's problem. Brutus believed that this is for Rome's own good, Cassius manipulated Brutus into thinking that he must eliminate Caesar. The greatest good in this tragic hero lead him to the wickedest evil. Although killing Caesar was a bad choice in the end, Brutus always tries to do what is best for Rome and for the people. The reason that Brutus gets caught up in the conspiracy is because Cassias appeals to his pride and says nice things about him with forged letters from the Roman people saying he is a greater leader than Caesar. This flaw eventually leads to his downfall because of all the bad decisions it causes him to make.
