Firstly, there are only male chairmen and premiers since China was founded. Even nowadays, in Chinese presidential election in 2013, only one male candidate, Jinping Xi, is considered, while women do not have any chances to be a candidate (Kevin Voigt and Jaime FlorCruz). Xi is also named as chairman of the state Central Military Commission. He has a stronger military fame than either of his two predecessors when their terms begin. It shows that men own dominate power in the politics. Secondly, the ratio of women attending the 12th National People’s Congress in 2013 is 23.4 percent, which is 2.4 percentage points higher than 20 years ago (Xinhua). Although the ration of women in the National People’s Congress is increasing, women are minority in China’s politic system. Men play dominant role in Chinese government and make decisions for the future development of China. Thirdly, the key decisions affect developing of the nation are made by male leaders. For example, chairman Deng normalizes relations with the United States, negotiates the return of Hong Kong from the British and introduces a number of free-market reforms (Jesse Greenspan).
