The quote “Absolute power corrupts absolutely” is much more than an antithesis but it’s also a warning. A warning that tells us to watch out for those in power because power is dangerous and has the ability to change even the greatest of men. In William Shakespeare’s Julius Caesar, Julius Caesar is killed because of his peers believed that the power of becoming king of the Roman Empire would corrupt him. Because of this, his closest friend devised a plan to kill him before he had the chance to abuse his power. Although, the question is asked, did he really deserve to die? Some may say he didn’t because you can’t justifiably kill someone because of assumptions. But all throughout the play, we see examples of why there was no other option. We
