This book seems to me as a story that someone would read only once. But, the description of the ocean and all of its creatures makes me feel like I am aboard the Nautilus. I have always been interested in the ocean and the life that inhabits it and I believe that Verne has done an outstanding job on showing and not telling the ocean. The writing style that Verne uses is wonderful. I can clearly tell by all description of the ocean and the Nautilus that Verne uses is that he likes writing about nature and technology. It is when Professor Aronnax, Conseil, and Ned Land are aboard the Abraham Lincoln, in pursue of the “ narwhal.” But, all three of them are thrown overboard the ship when they were battling the “ narwhal,” which was really the Nautilus. The battle with the Nautilus is the first conflict. This conflict is person versus person. It is this type of conflict because there are men aboard the Abraham Lincoln firing at the Nautilus. And there are men on the Nautilus firing at the opposing vessel. This is why this is a person versus person conflict. Another conflict is in the middle of the book. It all happens when Professor Aronnax, Conseil, and Ned are eating food on an island, since the captain of the Nautilus allowed them to. But, while enjoying their food, they are attacked by a twenty natives. The natives have in hand bows and arrows, and stones. The threesome are running back to their boat because of the attack. This conflict is person versus person, for obvious reasons. People are attacking the professor, Conseil, and Ned, who are also people. This is why this is a person versus person
