During the 17th and 18th century, women we’re viewed as lesser than men in society. Young girls did not receive the same education as young boys, leaving them at a disadvantage. I've chosen Lieutenant Colonel James Harold "Jimmy" Doolittle, United States Army Air Forces as my charismatic leader. He was the planner and leader for the "Doolittle raid" aka "Japan raid". The raid was the United States response to the bombing of Pearl Harbor. Doolittle came out of retirement when approached with the offer to lead the raid. I believe that for someone to ask for your services and help in such a high level mission, it means they have a high opinion of you.…

I've learned about them through many other individuals that were involved in her success, who praised her for not just her athletic ability, but also leadership. With her name written on the big board with all of the other inductees, in front of the tiger gym it allows me to see almost every day what hard work can help you achieve. This causes me to strive to be on that same board as her in my foreseeable future. With her humbleness, she has taught many, including me that the team, and winning is first before yourself, that success is earned not given and that you aren't born gifted, but is something you have to work for. Just like her, other respected women in Biddeford worked for what they wanted with years of practice, not expecting anything will magically get them what they…

Reflection #5 This week’s reading in, “Emotionally Intelligent Leadership,” was all about inspiration and being a good leader through inspiring others. This, personally, is an area where I have a lot of experience. When I was in high school I was the captain of my lacrosse year from sophomore to senior year. During this time of being captain I grew as a leader and learned many things about inspiring others. The main thing I learned, which the book also touched on a little bit, was that to effectively inspire others it is important to grow a relationship with them first and foremost.…

A normal person might strive to be average, to be the okay for the moment and never truly use their full potential. For a normal person, being in a leadership position can sometimes be too hard, complicated, and stressful if they are not dedicated or prepared. Each of these factors can discourage many people, people who have the potential but not the training or motivation to hold a position of leadership. I, however, believe that I have the potential, the training, and the motivation to do something amazing as the VP of District Four.
