One of the themes I’m seeing throughout these discussions is that lovers of books now were made lovers of books as children. You said that you used to ask your mom to read more and more books to you. That’s not only a testament of your love for books but also her love of books and reading them and sharing them with you. I’m so glad that books evoke a positive emotion for you and you’ve continued to love them, even today.
I don’t remember reading Trumpet of the Swans as a child. I do very much remember reading about Fudge in the Judy Blume books. I don’t recall much of the story, but I do remember that I very much enjoyed Tales of a Fourth Grade Nothing, and Double Fudge. Starting to read those books by Judy Blume led me to other ones
