Many Indian women wear a dress called sari, it made out of colorful silk. Sari goes around the waist, with the end it go over the shoulder to cover the chest. Sari look more like a dress made from a big scarf. (“culture Indian”) Each sari are different. On wedding, women wear more of red color silk. For wealthy people, their wedding dress are made out of gold silk. Also on wedding, the bride cover her head with big sheet of silk that is made out of gold. For men, they wear dhoti, sherwani, and turban. Dhoti one of traditional clothing for men. It look similar to regular pant but it tied around the waist and legs. Dhoti only wear on special occasion. Men wear it the most of family gathering. Sherwani is a long coat, buttoned from top to bottom. The coat length is to the knees. Indian men wear sherwani most on their wedding. The groom and all of the men in the family wear it during the wedding. Last is Turban, turban is a headdress that wrap around the head with cloth. Men wear it on special occasion. Also on their wedding. Moving on to different culture. Indian celebrate mahatma Gandhi 's birthday, festival of colors, and Independence day. Celebrating Gandhi birthday is important to Indian people; he is the person that led Indian people free. India gained independence from British because of his movement. India celebrate Gandhi’s birthday to show respect and Gratefulness. The second holiday India celebrate is the festival of color. The festival of color is the time to show the good over evil. They welcome spring and harvests time with colors. The each colors express their life of being blessed and happy. Friends and family gather around the neighbors and throw each other with variety of colors powder. During the festival of color, the whole neighbors is cover with differnt kind of colors.
