He also served as county judge in Wilson county in 1869.Later he went back to Mexico with his son, Santiago, who was mayor of Nuevo Laredo,Tamaulipas. Seguin died seven years later on August 27, 1890. His body was soon brought back to Texas and he was buried in a town called,
