After reviewing both speeches “I Had a Dream,” by Martin Luther King, Jr. and “Glory and Hope,” by Nelson Mandela, I have concluded that “I Had a Dream,” by martin Luther King, Jr. was not only the greatest demonstration for freedom in the history of our nation but as well as more inspiring than Nelson Mandela. In Washington D.C. at the Lincoln Memorial on August 28, 1963 Martin Luther King, Jr. stood in front of activist and everyone who was interested in the Civil Rights and gave an inspiring and motivational speech that inform and persuade people about Civil Rights. In this speech King emphasized that things were not right and needed to change. Martin Luther King, Jr.’s speech is more effective and inspiring than Nelson Mandela’s speech because it was the greatest demonstration for freedom in the history of the nation, and had more evidence. …show more content…
On the Lincoln Memorial in 1963, when King stood in front of those activist, and people who were interested in the Civil Rights, and emphasized the point that things needed to change a lot. This was done by proving that segregation was unjust and harsh, and by calling upon people and asking them for help. The help he wanted was to change the way our nation was segregated to be a whole nation and stand together.
