As a Journeyman my main focus was to build my skills into becoming a competent craftsman. I was skilled in removing, installing, preforming operational checks, and repairs on avionics systems and line replaceable units with minimal to no supervision. I could diagnose malfunctions using technical orders, schematics, wiring diagrams, integrated test systems and other test equipment. With my advance knowledge and capabilities I was able to maintain 24 hour alert readiness status on 10 assigned HC-130P and one C-130 GITA. These aircraft were able to complete missions at increased rate of proficiency. As a journeyman I was already showing my willingness to learn and led other troops. With my guidance the aircraft passed a quality assurance inspection and maintained an overall 94% pass rate for the entire year of 2011. My duties included aircraft munitions uploads and downloads. I immaculately completed 17,000 munitions uploads on ten HC-130P's with zero mishaps. This led to the completion of 421 training sorties in the fiscal year of 2011. I was a driven worker I upgraded six aircraft missile warning systems which enabled advanced laser detection. To keep aircraft up to date on new threats in hostile environments, I was a vital team member in the upgrading aircraft with newest radio frequency threat data. Through out my time as a Journeyman I deployed in support of Operation Enduring Freedom. Part of the Combined Joint task Horn of Africa. During this deployment I coordinated and updated aircraft chaff and flare mission data files software and improved aircraft defensive system capabilities. Identifed a failed aircraft infra-red sensitivity test; removed and replaced the faulty sensor and maintained a 93% mission capability
