This is where Iron Man 3 released shortly after to explain the emotional damage that Tony Stark had to deal with after the New York incident. He started to build over 30 new Iron Man suits because he was concerned for the Earth safety after what he had witnessed in the portal. Then, in Avengers 2, Stark planned to use Loki’s scepter, which was found by but then relieved from Hydra at the beginning of the movie, to create “a suit of armor around the world” (Iron Man). From Lost Innocence to Gained Experience War does not only include army warfare, but also personal experiential wars. Feelings of fear, hostility and indignation dominate peacefulness; as we all identify rivals in the world around us and “pit ourselves” against them so as to have an object for hate. “Does Peace Have a Chance?” written by John Horgan was published in Slate magazine in 2009 on the topic of war and human nature. Horgan argues that, despite popular opinion, human nature is not innately violent and that peace is possible amongst the human race. The author supports his thesis through statistics on mortality caused by war, anthropological studies of hunter-gatherer societies, and the decline of large scale warfare. In general, Horgan’s essay style is effective in persuading the audience to consider his opinion after reading. Although the author makes poor comparisons and lacks in some definitions, he successfully utilises narration and description to engage the audience, prove the credibility of both himself and his facts, and…

What have been the main causes of peace in the last 100 years? At first glance, the question seems straightforward; however, the last 100 years have been the most violent and deadly in recorded human history. During this period, conflicts resulted in the death of approximately 180-230 million people (Leitenberg, 2006), and since 1946 there have been 259 conflicts in 159 locations around the world (Pettersson and Wallensteen, 2015).
