Joshua Davis used two noticeably different methods of development. The beginning of the text appears to have no chronological order. Davis begins the story by showing the reader the history of each major character in the story. This is beneficial to the reader because the story focuses on one character at a time, allowing the reader time to remember the characters and differentiate between them. Once the reader is familiar with the characters, the development of the text changes. The end of the text is chronological. The reader is able to see where the team begins and how they make it to the competition.
