Josephine Creed: The Journey To Uncover Who I Am

When someone asks you the question, “Who are you,” do you immediately have a list prepared of the qualities and attributes you possess, even though you know that those aren’t what define you? Josephine Creed is your typical white Christian girl who was raised in a Christian family and goes to a Christian high school. She loves to sing and take pictures of the entities God has created. I haven’t experienced many life-changing hardships and live a comfortable life; these circumstances make it difficult for me to uncover who I truly am. Life is a vast novel, and as you go chapter by chapter, you can further understand what is happening. While this journey of discerning who I am has been long, I continue to push through and seek the person that God created me to be. The first stop on my journey was transferring from a public school to a Christian high school. It was during this season of my life that I learned how people and a sense of security are a necessity, both of which are absent when you move somewhere unfamiliar. Every day, for the first two weeks of school, I felt lost. It wasn’t until I found my clique that I finally felt the peace that had been misplaced in my heart. This year is full of lasts and goodbyes. I will quit my job once I leave to college and say goodbye to my co-workers. Saying goodbye to the friends that I spent these last four years with will hit me hardest. I would be a drastically different person had I not lived part of my life with these people. However, I look forward to the new challenges life throws at me once I start this new chapter with all new faces, communities, and experiences. I know that college will spark some new growth from within me and I will be one step closer to becoming the woman that God created me to
