I honestly enjoyed reading this story once I got past a few bumps. I had to reread certain parts to understand what was happening. The terminology used was not ordinary to me. However, some parts were still questionable. Such as, “He bought a strapontin for the Casino and watched Josephine Baker go through her chocolate arabesques.” I don’t know what the word “strapontin” means. So, my best guess would be a device to hold chips for the casino. Another example, "I'd like chou-fleur." They are speaking of food and vegetables so, I’m assuming this is a french word for broccoli.
