Imagine being targeted because of your race and religion. Joseph Paul Franklin hate for interracial couples and Jewish people grew stronger every day. Many people often wonder about his upbringing, what he did, and where is he now. Joseph Paul Franklin was expected to be a Nazi.
Who was he before a murder some may ask. He was born James Clayton Vaughan and when he got older he changed his name to Joseph Paul Franklin. He grew up with a mother as a waitress and a son of an alcoholic butcher. The start of his life was a busy start. He dropped out of junior high and met Louis Portman. They got married two weeks after they meant. After that is when his killing spree started. (Gaines 3,2)
What started his killing spree. His hate for Jewish people and African Americans formed in his teen years. He read many nazi literature books in his teen years.The beginning of his killing years. On October 8th Joseph Paul Franklin shoots and kills Gerald Gordon. On June 16 he shot and killed a 22-year-old African-American …show more content…
He got caught in Missouri and was sentenced to death in 1997. He was supposed to get the lethal injection at 12:01 Wednesday, November 20th. He escaped from jail and found a bike and rode it to where he parked his car. The end of the ex-nazi finally came. After many years of killing and running, he finally got caught. He finally got caught and sent back to jail and in Missouri. The Missouri supreme court issued him to execution with the lethal injection. (state of Missouri 5) Joseph Paul Franklin got the lethal injection on November 20, 2013, at 6:08 am. (Missouri,Oneal 1,2, 5)
