2.1. Joseph Goebbels Joseph Goebbels was one of Adolf Hitler’s closest friends and devoted followers. He rose up through the ranks to become Reich Minister of Public Enlightenment and Propaganda of Nazi Germany during Hitler’s rein. The goal of the newly established government agency was to supervise and control the mass media and culture of Germany. The ultimate interior motive of the agency was to bash and exterminate the Jewish culture and people from Germany. Goebbels was an anti-Semite and anti-Communist. These aspects and other characteristics proved him to be a good candidate for his position, which others who followed the Nazi party identified with. Nazi propaganda was distributed through different forms throughout the country of Germany which proved to be effective and useful. Various methods were used to convince the German people such as: books, films, magazines, posters, newspapers, radio, and speakers. Each form of propaganda was crucial for Hitler to acquire and maintain power, and implement Nazi policies. Hitler controlled them so naturally he used them and their services at his disposal. Any political opponent who tried to run against Hitler mysteriously disappeared but people had their suspicions about the abrupt disappearances, yet were too intimidated to say anything. Other enemies ended up having the same fate. Another tactic Hitler used was turning his own men against each other so they can fight for power amongst themselves. Hitler was well aware of his political advantage but still used the fear tactic to make his followers stay in line and not attempt to go against him. Hitler exploited fears and people because in order to make them question if they are truly safe enough. Hitler had propaganda and all these other tactics in the palm of his hand in order to remain in power during 1933-1945.
2.4. Conclusion In conclusion, although Adolf Hitler used and supported propaganda, it was not the only way he remained in power during his reign from 1933-1945. Propaganda was just a major portion of the tactics that Hitler used to instill pride and the instinct to follow the Nazi Party. All in all, propaganda was used to a great extent to help Hitler to remain in power from 1933-1945. There are other methods, but propaganda just got to the citizens first and gave off a feeling of nationalism which Hitler wanted to happen in order for his support numbers to
