The primary objectives of my project build on and revolve around activist organizations like The 519’s and The Jim Collins Foundation’s missions to decentre the medical clinic as a site of lone knowledge for parents with their praxis-based art groups for trans children under twelve in Toronto and New York, respectively. Taking part in workshops and conferences on theatre, dance and craft designed specifically for trans children and their families, I plan to engage in close readings of process art’s informative influence on the everyday lives of facilitators, parents and, of course, trans children themselves as well as conduct interviews with participants.
