Beauty Without Boundaries
I used to think you needed full function of your arms and hands to be able do makeup. Then I read an article written by Jordan Bone. Jordan is partially paralyzed after a car accident about 11 years ago. She is unable to move her hands. But has over 180,000 subscribers to her YouTube channel as a beauty blogger. This made me realize anyone could be confined to a wheelchair and have no use of their hands but still be able to magnificently put on makeup. I learned that if you have enough determination, you can accomplish anything you put your mind to.
About 11 years ago, Jordan’s life changed drastically. When she got in her mom’s car on that rainy, cool, Monday, she did not know that was the last time she was going to be able to open the door with her hands. She didn’t know she’d never be able to put on a seatbelt the same way, again. At 16 years old she found out heartbreaking news. After that car accident she was

Many people would ask her why she never showed all of her steps, others asked why she didn’t use her hands. She used to edit her videos so no one could see her struggling and doing things differently. She got some pretty nasty comments on her videos at first. Jordan had been through so many episodes of depression and anxiety and worry, she didn’t want to be known as “the girl in the wheelchair” to her subscribers. Finally, she had enough. The comments became too much, she decided to share her story with everyone. Her starting sentence of the reveal video is “I mean, I can't dress myself or do my own hair, so to be able to do my own makeup is my thing."; then she proceeded to do her makeup, without edits this time. The amount of positive feedback she received was immaculate, all her worry was for nothing. Her story was inspirational, so many people reached out and let her know how awesome of a person is, she still does makeup videos, unedited, 4 years

In the short story “Safe” by Cherylene Lee reveals the narrator’s divulgence of her experience with “true danger”.
