According to the Lamar County School Student/Parent handbook,There are a number of factors are taken into account when computing a student's grade: homework, daily class work, neatness in preparation of work, promptness in completing work, projects, portfolios, and more. (41) Many classes focus particularly on the skills that require teacher observations (e.g. participation in cooperative group work) rather than grading paperwork. For this reason, attendance is also a factor to take into account when determining grades, because students need to be present in order to receive a grade for activities that require teacher observations such as group projects, whole class discussions, and more types of formative and summative assessments. Lamar County Public Schools have a 10 point grading scale and has four grade reporting periods for each school year. Students who are receiving a regular education, not special education, will have their school work assessed based on their grade level.…

Lesson 6 Learning Assessment For the evaluation of the Agency Culture Assessment, I am doing it on Children’s Hope Foster Family Agency on the program Transitional Housing Program (THP). Doing a qualitative approach is actually simple with the THP clients. I will consider doing a 12-month research since that is the average time that the youth stay in the program. For the key informants, I would choose social workers outside the agency who are knowledgeable of the THP population and people who are knowledgeable on how to conduct a qualitative approach.…

All of the teachers except one had posters, pictures, drawings... etc.…

While completing this activity, I learned about how a board member feels about if standardized testing improves motivation, if the media portrays test data accurately and thoroughly, how results from standardized testing are used to improve instruction and curriculum, and if she thought standardized testing would increase or decrease over the next decade. The person I interviewed is not only a school board member, but she is also a retired teacher from a neighboring school district. She continues to work for that district as a long term substitute. I have learned many things from the McGraw-Hill Connect Self-Assessment that will help me be a better employee, coworker, and or manager. I have to understand that there are people within the office that potentially may or will have differing personality characteristics than mine. By understanding and recognizing these differences I will be better suited to work with anyone in my organization. I tend to work well with anyone regardless, however I will be able to see what motivates my coworkers.
