JonBenet Ramsey was a six year old pageant queen. She resided in Boulder Colorado with her father John Bennett Ramsey, mother Patsy Ramsey, and nine year old brother Burke Ramsey. The Ramsey’s were the ideal, picture perfect, all-American family. They lived in a quiet, safe, suburban neighborhood. However, December 26, 1996 the Ramsey’s lives changed forever. JonBenet was murdered and found in the basement of the Ramsey home. Suspicious pieces of evidence led to theories that one of JonBenet’s immediate family members were linked to her murder. The idea of JonBenet’s parents over-sexualizing her in her pageant days became a question in the minds of many. Even her father admits that he regrets allowing his child to participate in beauty pageants at such a young age. John Bennett Ramsey told ABC News, “I think about these things now and it makes me cringe. We were so naïve. I now believe with all my heart that it’s not a good idea to put your child on public display.” In the blink of an eye, the JonBenet Ramsey case was one of the most well-known murder cases in US history. Nearly every media source around the country sought after any information they could grasp in hopes of being the first to release new information no one had heard before. Unfortunately, nearly every media source had a different storyline to present. Unverified assumptions and accusations were made by various thought to be reliable news sources. The story is still buzzing 20 years later. Sources such as CBS are still making false accusations to this day. The story soon became used for entertainment as opposed to a matter of obtaining justice. In September 2016, CBS aired a miniseries titled “The Case of: JonBenet Ramsey” where they falsely accuse brother, Burke Ramsey of murdering his little sister in 1996. As this case remains unsolved, Burke filed a lawsuit against the television program for confirming this conspiracy
